Latley, young youth have been gathering at threesixty Bike Shop in downtown Zanesville to practice their BMX bike riding skills.
Most of them are participating in a win a bike contest. The idea of the contest is to post a photo on Facebook of you and anything that says “I wanna win a free DK!”. Then you upload the photo onto the “wall” of Zanesville BMX fan page. The person with the most likes on their photo win the bike.
The bike is sponsored by threesixty Bike Shop. The contest ends October 31st.
The bike was purchased by threesixty as part of a campaign for improvements for youth activity. Recently we’ve been in contact with city council and the mayor about the feasability of a skatepark. threesixty’s campaign is an attempt to provide an alternative sport oppurtunity for kids that do not participate in team sports.
The campaign has been very succesful. The intial post about the free bike has been shared 56 times on Facebook, with 25 active users. This is a unprecidented action in Zanesville social media.
The owner of the company recently was qouted saying “we’ve got of exciting things going on, we will relaunch November 4th and start progressing to bigger goals of the store.”
